Instructions for Authors

Submission Guidelines
Global Virology Reports (GVR) invites submissions of original research, reviews, and other article types that align with the journal's scope. Manuscripts must be submitted in English through the online submission system and must not be under consideration elsewhere. Authors are expected to fully adhere to the following policies to ensure a smooth and efficient editorial process.

Manuscript Preparation and Structure
All manuscripts must adhere to standard academic structure and formatting guidelines as specified on the journal's website. Key requirements include:

·       File Format: Submit the main manuscript text in a single editable file (e.g., .docx).

·       Structured Abstract: Original research articles must include a structured abstract (e.g., Background, Methods, Results, Conclusions) not exceeding 250 words.

·       Keywords: Provide 4-6 relevant keywords.

·       Main Text: Organize the manuscript as follows: Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusion, and References.

·       References: Format references according to the journal's specific citation. All cited works must be listed, and all listed references must be cited in the text.

Mandatory Statements and Declarations
The following statements must be included in the manuscript file, typically in a dedicated section before the reference list:

·       Ethical Approval: For studies involving humans or animals, include the name of the approving ethics committee or institutional review board and the approval number.

·       Informed Consent: A statement confirming that informed consent was obtained from human participants.

·       Conflict of Interest: All authors must disclose any financial or other conflicts of interest. If none exist, state "The authors declare no competing interests."

·       Funding Statement: Detail all sources of funding for the research, providing relevant grant numbers and the full name of the funding agency(s).

·       Data Availability Statement: A statement describing how and where the data supporting the findings of this study can be accessed (e.g., in a public repository, as supplementary material, or available upon request). This is mandatory.

·       Author Contributions: Specify the contribution of each author using the CRediT (Contributor Roles Taxonomy).

Adherence to Reporting Guidelines
To ensure scientific rigor and transparency, authors must follow relevant, internationally recognized reporting guidelines. These should be referenced in the Methods section.

·       Systematic Reviews/Meta-Analyses: PRISMA

·       Clinical Trials: CONSORT

·       Animal Research: ARRIVE

·       Other guidelines (e.g., STROBE, MIAME) may apply depending on the study design.

Editorial and Peer Review Process
All submissions are initially screened for scope, completeness, and adherence to these instructions. Manuscripts that pass this check will enter a rigorous, double-blind peer-review process. Authors can track the status of their manuscript via the online submission system.

Failure to comply with these instructions may result in delays or return of the manuscript without review.
