Author Guidelines

Authors are warmly invited to submit their manuscripts to Global Virology Reports. Each submission undergoes an initial editorial assessment to ensure alignment with the journal’s aims, scope, and scientific standards. Manuscripts deemed suitable will proceed to external peer review, after which an editorial decision (accept, revise, or reject) will be made based on the reviewers’ evaluations and the journal’s quality criteria.

Before submitting, authors must obtain all necessary permissions for any material included in the manuscript, such as images, figures, datasets, or previously published content. All listed authors must have given their full consent to be named on the manuscript. When applicable, studies must have received approval from a recognized ethics committee, in accordance with national and international regulatory requirements governing the research.

Please note that the Editor may issue a desk rejection if the submission does not meet basic standards of clarity, structure, relevance, or scientific quality. Authors are therefore encouraged to ensure that the study design is sound, the arguments are logically presented, the title is concise, and the abstract provides a clear stand-alone summary of the work. This greatly improves the likelihood of securing willing reviewers and facilitates a smoother review process.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements:

  • The manuscript adheres fully to the requirements described in the Author Guidelines.
  • The work has not been previously published and is not under consideration by any other journal.
  • All references have been thoroughly checked for accuracy, completeness, and correct formatting.
  • All tables and figures are properly numbered, clearly labeled, and referenced within the text.
  • Permission has been secured for all third-party materials included in the submission, such as photographs, datasets, or reproduced figures.
