Open Access Policy
Global Virology Reports (GVR) is a fully open access (OA) journal. We are committed to the immediate, free, and unrestricted access of research to foster global knowledge exchange, innovation, and public benefit. All articles published in GVR are made freely available online upon publication.
Funding Model: Article Processing Charge (APC)
To cover the costs of the publication process—including peer review, editorial oversight, production, hosting, and long-term archiving—GVR is supported by an Article Processing Charge (APC). The APC is payable upon manuscript acceptance.
· Waivers and Discounts: The journal offers full or partial APC waivers to corresponding authors based in qualifying low- and lower-middle-income countries, as well as in cases of demonstrated financial hardship. Requests must be made during the submission process. Our waiver process is designed to prevent inequity in scientific publication and maintain global participation in virology research. Waiver requests do not affect editorial or peer review decisions.
Benefits of Publishing Open Access in GVR
· Maximized Visibility and Impact: Unrestricted access ensures your work can be read and cited by anyone, anywhere.
· Public Engagement: Facilitates the immediate application of research findings by clinicians, policymakers, and the public.
· Funder Compliance: Meets the open access mandates of major public and private research funders worldwide.
