Author Policies and Responsibilities

Authorship in Global Virology Reports (GVR) is a privilege that carries significant responsibility. By submitting a manuscript, all authors agree to abide by the journal's comprehensive policies and affirm the integrity, originality, and ethical conduct of their work.

Core Author Responsibilities
Authors are required to adhere to the following fundamental principles:

·       Integrity and Accuracy: Authors must ensure their research is conducted and reported with the highest level of honesty. Data must be accurately represented, and the manuscript must contain sufficient detail to permit reproducibility.

·       Originality and Attribution: Submitted work must be original and must not plagiarize the work of others. All sources of information, ideas, and data must be properly cited.

·       Ethical Compliance: Research involving humans, animals, or potential dual-use concerns must have received necessary ethical approvals and comply with international standards. Authors must be prepared to provide documentation upon request.

·       Transparency and Disclosure: Authors must fully disclose all potential Conflicts of Interest, funding sources, and the use of AI tools. Author contributions must be detailed using the CRediT taxonomy.

·       Data and Code Availability: Authors are obligated to make the data and code underlying their findings publicly available, typically through a recognized repository, as outlined in the Data Sharing Policy.

·       Post-Publication Accountability: Authors are expected to engage responsibly with the scholarly community post-publication. This includes correcting errors promptly, responding to critiques, and, if necessary, participating in the retraction process should serious flaws be discovered.

Policy Compliance
Compliance with these policies is a mandatory condition for submission and publication. Manuscripts failing to meet these standards will be rejected or, if violations are discovered post-publication, may be subject to correction or retraction. Serious breaches may result in sanctions against the authors.
