Digital Preservation & Indexing Policy

Global Virology Reports (GVR) is committed to ensuring the long-term survival, accessibility, and integrity of all published scholarly content for future researchers and generations. To achieve this, we participate in several leading digital preservation and archiving programs.

Digital Preservation Systems
To provide a robust and sustainable safety net, GVR’s content is permanently archived and preserved through the following distributed systems:

·       LOCKSS: A decentralized, open-source system that allows libraries to preserve scholarly content through a "lots of copies keep stuff safe" approach.

·       PKP Preservation Network: A dedicated preservation service for Open Journal Systems (OJS) platforms, ensuring an additional layer of security.

Redundant Backup Strategy
In addition to formal preservation networks, GVR maintains multiple, geographically separated external backups of all published materials as part of its core infrastructure.

Indexing and Repository Depositing
GVR proactively submits article metadata and full texts to major indexing and abstracting services, repositories, and discovery platforms (e.g., PubMed Central, Scopus, Web of Science, Google Scholar) as the journal meets their specific eligibility criteria. This practice maximizes the discoverability and impact of published research.
