Editorial Policy
The editorial policies of Global Virology Reports (GVR) are designed to ensure scientific integrity, transparency, fairness, and ethical responsibility throughout the entire publication process. All practices follow international standards from COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics), ICMJE (International Committee of Medical Journal Editors), WAME (World Association of Medical Editors), PRISMA, CONSORT, ARRIVE, STROBE, etc. These policies apply to editors, reviewers, authors, and readers.
GVR upholds strict editorial independence. Editorial decisions are made without interference from sponsors, advertisers, or institutional affiliations. Editors are obligated to:
· Evaluate manuscripts solely on scientific merit, originality, relevance, and ethical integrity.
· Maintain confidentiality of all submitted materials.
· Recuse themselves from decisions where conflicts of interest exist.
· Uphold transparency in editorial communication.
· Ensure decisions follow COPE’s best practice guidelines.
Editors may consult associate editors, reviewers, or external advisors when specialized expertise is required. Unpublished information obtained through the submission process must never be used for personal research or advantage.
